Sea angling trips have been a popular activity with visitors and locals alike for generations. It’s a great way to get a unique view of our wonderfully rugged Yorkshire coastline. Fishing is also a fantastic family or small group activity, as it’s suitable for all ages and experience levels.
The Fishing Boat
Comfortably carrying 12 passengers, Sea Mist is fitted with the latest navigation and safety equipment. She is a brand new vessel, with a comfortable cabin which houses a toilet for our guests’ comfort.
The Skipper – Chris
Chris Metcalfe is a local lad who has lived in Whitby all his life. He used to work on Chieftan, with his dad, which was a very popular charter fishing vessel back in the day.

Had a great day out with my 10 year old son caught a massive amount of fish mainly by louie which he keeps reminding me, was on for three hours and the skipper ken was amazing unlike some I’ve been on was health and safety conscious and a massive help to the children on board I could not recommend any more highly, caught loads of fish louie had a great time and learnt a lot from ken.

What Fish Can be Caught off Whitby?
In short, lots! The waters off Whitby are rish in various kinds of fish including favourites like cod and haddock, as well as various kinds of flat fish.
In the summer we fish quite close to shore for mackerel. These are often shorter trips, perfect for children.
Fantastic afternoon fishing on Libby with my son. Ken looked after us very well helping us novices successfully catch 15 mackerel. They tasted great on a BBQ later as well.
